WHY ARE THERE 12 SIGNS?
The 12 signs of the zodiac, looking at the European flag or looking at a euro coin we see a symbol of 12 stars forming a circle, on Wikipedia it is stated literally that the only reason there are 12 stars forming the symbol of the European Union, which has no relation to the number of members, is that it is a symbol of perfection, the number 12 has played an important role throughout history and Christian religion.
It is the number of disciples that, according to legend, Jesus chose, the number 12 is also symbolic, it means "choice". That is why we speak of the 12 tribes of Israel, when in fact the Old Testament mentions more than 12; but this is meant to say that they were "chosen" tribes. Similarly, the 12 minor prophets of the Old Testament are grouped together.
This is what Wikipedia says if we ask about the particles that make up all the matter in the universe and that they are! YES! there are 12, and this is starting to get really interesting.
The Standard Model conjectures that there are twelve types of matter particles, which when combined form all the leptons and hadrons in the universe. Six of these are classified as quarks (up, down, strange, charm, top and bottom), and the other six as leptons (electron, muon, tau, and their corresponding neutrinos).

Also the Catholic Gospel mentions 12 apostles of Jesus, which turn out to be more than 12 if we compare their names; but they are called "The Twelve" because they are the chosen ones of the Lord. Likewise, Jesus assures that he has 12 legions of angels at his disposal (Mt 26:53). The Apocalypse speaks of 12 stars that crown the Woman, 12 gates of Jerusalem, 12 angels, 12 fruits of the tree of life.
The number 12 also plays a relevant role in the life of Pythagoras, as it is one of his regular solids, possibly the most interesting, as it is composed of 12 pentagonal sides, the pentagon was the symbol of the Pythagorean school. The number 12 is not only present in Christian religion, primitive Japanese peoples recognized the existence of 12 gods, Plato in his Republic admitted the existence of 12 gods, for the Etruscans it was also a number of perfection and they already had twelve divisions through which the sun traveled daily.
But for the case at hand, astrology, there is something much more evident and a much simpler reason for this division, a circle which is the shape of an astrological mandala is formed by 360° dividing these into 12 equal parts we get 12 parts of 30° each, resulting in the most logical division for an annual period, as if that were not enough there is a much clearer explanation, the time elapsed between one full moon and another is approximately 28 days, how many full moons occur throughout a year? Well of course there are 12. It is interesting to note that, of all the calendars in history, we have stayed with and finally evolved in a majority way with the one that subdivides into 12.
ancient astrology gave great consideration to lunar influence, another curiosity would be the case of the months of the year which are also 12 but which we know for certain were originally 10 and they added July and August one added by Julius Caesar and another by the emperor Augustus, leaving the calendar as it is today 12 months, Well, yes we know that the year can be divided differently because we use twelve? and the hours?, couldn't they be changed and choose another number? why if there are other ways to divide time do we use this one?
The Etruscans, the gospels, the fundamental particles that form the Standard Model, astrology, the European Union flag, the calendar, or every time we look at a clock it is always the same, it is a choice that seeks perfection, and it is based on the natural model, for example this flower below
Does anyone think that Kepler, Galileo or Newton all of them practitioners and great connoisseurs of astrology, Galileo even used it as a means of livelihood, did not know of the existence of other constellations? It is evident that the existence of 12 zodiac signs is not arbitrary.
The Ophiuchus issue
Ophiuchus arrived at some point like someone looking for a parking spot and squeezed in between two constellations, yes, it sounds like a joke, but more or less that's what happened, a while ago I took the time and we can all check it out, by looking at the news on the internet, that is, I searched, GREAT DISCOVERY! A NEW ZODIAC SIGN IS FOUND, well, it is a recurring news story from many years ago, it is therefore another hoax circulating on the internet, it has actually been circulating since 1930 but we didn't have the internet and it wasn't published, at that time it was incorporated by the International Astronomical Union.
