ASTROLOGICAL
SYNCHRONIZATION AND ARCHETYPES
The planets
have a series of main characteristics and connect directly with
archetypes, with essential conditions of nature and human life.
These archetypes
have a well-differentiated character and have been cataloged since ancient times; the
most popular and accessible way to introduce them was to compare them to Gods, thus, the planets
and the gods shared similar characteristics, specific patterns and ways of acting
well-defined in relation to other deities.
This also occurred
in monotheistic religions, which presented the Sun as the unique reference point; it is evident that one thing is the planet and another is the
mythological characteristics of that planet. The true mystery is how the planets
came to have an influence similar to that of human deities.
We must bear in
mind that the nature of the gods corresponds unequivocally with
ours and that when a deity is presented with characteristics different from the
human collective at a psychological level it is not accepted by the majority; only
small opinion groups will adopt it.
But, how does a
planet come to have an influence similar to certain psychological
archetypes? It is something very interesting. As an astrologer, I have no doubt that this occurs, but to accept it
I must acknowledge that our psychology is part of a greater one, one
connected with the rest of our universe, something like belonging to a macro
organism whose colors, shapes, relative sizes, and overall morphology
determine more characteristics than mere observation can reach.
Furthermore, one of these two things would
have to be true: either these influences are not a genuine characteristic of the universe but a
projection of human nature, and perhaps another non-human organism would receive
different influences, or the
universe creates the mental nature of all beings that manage to reach
a certain level of intelligence.
In any case,
living reality is much simpler; there undoubtedly exist cycles of influence
and their study is something useful.
