2. Find out not only about the date and place of birth but also about the sex and race. Are the native's parents alive? Does he have older and younger brothers or sisters? Is he married, single or ecclesiastical? Does he have children? What is his profession and present and past situation? It will be necessary before pronouncing a judgment to examine the state and condition of the native and analyze whether he is free and extrinsically capable of enjoying such happiness.
This is because if he finds himself imprisoned or is a slave, sick or impotent, he will hardly be able to enjoy the gifts of destiny incompatible with his situation and limitations so long as one or the other persist. It might be thought that some of them had such a thing marked in the radix, others that their directions or revolutions indicated it and still others that they possessed bad transits propitious to such a kind of death and that this would be sufficient in a common danger or collective fatality. But certainly, we will see appear in the emergency those who do not possess any of these indications. 12. The Sun in I, X and IX usually confers glory and honors except when there are other indications of great calamities in existence. Should the latter fact occur you must be very circumspect and not rush in your judgments but rather you should pay careful attention to all the details of the theme.
13. If you see at least three planets in the Fire triplicity, especially if it is the Sun and superior planets, you can augur the native considerable glory and power under the obvious condition that the determinations of these planets allow it. If you find Mercury and three more planets in the Air triplicity, you can assure that you are dealing with elevated intelligence as long as these planets are in houses congruent to such an assertion.
14. A stellium occupying a given house always presages something extraordinary in the affairs of this house especially if it comprises the Sun, Moon or both.
15. Illustrious and heroic nativities contain, certainly, fortunate influences but it is the presence in them of malefic influences that allows the conflicts from which great victories arise.
16. The natal themes in which the degree of a great conjunction that preceded them shortly arises or culminates (or in which this latter degree is occupied by the Sun or Moon, or by the ruler of the Ascendant or else that of the Midheaven) presage wonderful things if the rest of the theme agrees, especially if the great conjunction took place with change of triplicity.
17. The greatest prudence is required to predict the profession of a native since this depends often on other factors besides his sole qualities and aptitudes (such as the status and will of the parents, the laws of the country, hereditary positions, etc.).
18. When the circumstances surrounding the native are conducive, a weak celestial cause can trigger considerable effects. In times of war, a slight deadly direction is sufficient to cause considerable harm to a native who finds himself in battle or place of risk.
